Iranian Official Highlights US Failure in Middle East Management

“The US front in the region is in a mess. Firstly, we are now witnessing disobedience in the front, meaning that Saudi Arabia, Israel and Turkey, which are among the US (regional) allies, each go their own way in the region,” Mohsen Rezaei told the Tasnim News Agency on Wednesday.

Apart from the fact that Riyadh, Tel Aviv and Ankara are not completely complying with the US, Rezaei added, what has further bewildered the White House is disagreement among the US officials about how to deal with the ISIL group, whether by boots on the ground or through airstrikes.

“(US President) Obama is experiencing the worst management and command conditions, and (Americans) are unable to be successful in the region and handle the situation in the region,” the Iranian official added.

Since late September, the US and several of its Arab and Western allies have been conducting airstrikes against ISIL inside Syria and Iraq with almost no significant result.

The ISIL is a militant group in Iraq and Syria believed to be supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.

The terrorist group claims as an independent state the territory of Iraq and Syria, with implied future claims intended over more of the Levant, including Lebanon, occupied Palestine, Jordan, Cyprus, and Southern Turkey.
