US, Allies Failed to Defeat Resistance

“The US should not dream about defeating the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement and should be aware that the nations of Iraq, Syria and Lebanon will not abandon the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Muhamadawi was quoted by al-Masalah news website as saying.

He also said the Hezbollah movement’ presence in the region is not limited to Lebanon, Iraq and Syria, and is present in Yemen, Libya, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The Iraqi figure said the people of the countries will ultimately stand up against the Israeli regime and its supporters.

He also commented on the US and its allies’ attempts to oust the government in Syria, which is seen as the axis of resistance in the region, and said, “The US, Israel and Saudi Arabia have failed to overturn the Syrian government and bring a puppet regime to power in the Arab country.”

The US and Israel created the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group to deflect Iraqis’ attention away from developments in Syria, Muhamadawi noted.

The ISIL is a militant group in Iraq and Syria believed to be supported by the West and some regional Arab countries. The terrorist group claims as an independent state the territory of Iraq and Syria, with implied future claims intended over more of the Levant, including Lebanon, occupied Palestine, Jordan, Cyprus, and Southern Turkey.
