IRGC Ready to Assist Administration in Non-Military TechnologiesAddressing a cultural ceremony in Tehran on Tuesday, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said the IRGC’s research centers and the Aerospace Force are prepared to assist the administration and the ministries in the development of non-military technologies.

He further stressed that the IRGC has vigorously stuck to its missile program after the US focused on Iran’s defense plans following achievement of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

As regards a missile strike against Daesh (ISIL) terrorists in Syria on June 18, the general said the IRGC had asked permission from Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei beforehand, noting that the Leader had emphasized that "no civilian should be killed in the attack.”

Brigadier General Hajizadeh went on to say that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Quds Force immediately provided the Aerospace Force with the location of 60 targets.

On June 18, the IRGC fired six mid-range missile from its bases in Iran’s western provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdistan at the positions of terrorists in Deir ez-Zor. The raid was made in retaliation for a recent terrorist attack in Tehran claimed by the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group.

The IRGC said later that more than 170 Daesh terrorists, including several ringleaders, have been killed in the missile raid.
