Yemeni Forces Target Pro-Saudi Militants with Homegrown Missile

TEHRAN (defapress) – Yemen’s army and popular committees fired a homegrown ballistic missile at the positions of Saudi-backed mercenaries in the northwestern province of al-Jawf, inflicting major losses on them.

Yemeni Forces Target Pro-Saudi Militants with Homegrown MissileThe missile command of the Yemeni army announced that it hit al-Khab and al-Shaaf districts of al-Jawf on Friday night with a new type of a domestically-made missile dubbed Zelzal, leaving large groups of the militants dead and injured, Yemen's al-Masirah television network reported.

In a separate development, Yemeni troops shelled the gathering centers of the militants in in the Midi district of Hajjah Province, destroying a military vehicle.

The attacks were carried out in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in the Arabian Peninsula country.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 10,000 Yemenis, including 4,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
