Report:
Russia to Send T-90 Tanks to Iraq
TEHRAN (defapress)- Russian ambassador to Iraq, Maksim Maksimov said that Moscow is ready to send comprehensive support to Iraq in the form of T-90 tanks in order to boost the military potential and equipping of the Iraqi army,
The T-90 is a third generation Russian tanks, known for
their fire power. The export version includes fragmentation projectile with
remote detonation, which cause further havoc in adversary’s ranks, BasNews
reported.
However, according to the Russian official, Moscow also hopes to reach an agreement with Baghdad in regards to new joint projects in the defense industry cooperation sector.
He further added that Iraq has been an important partner for Russia in the Middle East, especially regarding the ongoing fight against the ISIL. He pointed out that Iraq makes a significant contribution to the fight, and has proven to be very effective in eliminating the group.
