Promoting Regional Peace Iran’s Main Policy, Envoy SaysAddressing a conference on Iran-Russia cooperation in peaceful nuclear energy in Moscow on Tuesday, Sanaei denounced Donald Trump’s recent comments as "insulting”.

"We all know that the main policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the expansion of peace and stability in the region, and on this path, it will not accept any insults or pressures,” he said.

"The recent remarks by the US president about the Iranian nation are insulting and are far from the reality on the ground, and history will judge them,” the diplomat added.

In a major confrontational stance against Iran on Friday, Trump refused to certify the multilateral deal on Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program and imposed further sanctions against the country’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Speaking from the White House, Trump said he will choose not to certify that Tehran is complying with the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers (the US, Russia, China, France, Britain, and Germany) known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

In response, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani later in the day blasted the anti-Iran comments made by the US president, reiterating that the Iranian nation will not surrender to such "false statements and hate speech”.
