TEHRAN (defapress) – President Hassan Rouhani has arrived in Kermanshah province in western Iran to assess the amount of damage that the devastating earthquake has left on the people and their houses.

Arriving at Kermanshah airport Tuesday morning, Iranian
President Hassan Rouhani vowed that his administration, armed forces and the
Iranian nation will utilize all their resources and capacities to assist the
earthquake-stricken people of Kermanshah so that they would return to normal
living conditions as soon as possible.
"The government will employ all its power to assist in the
improvement of people’s physical conditions, as well as the reconstruction of
their houses,” President Rouhani promised the people of Kermanshah who took the
brunt of a 7.3 magnitude earthquake that struck Iran-Iraq border on Sunday.
Rouhani hailed the efforts of military units including the
Army, IRGC, Basij, as well as Red Crescent Society staff, Housing Foundation,
ministries of roads, energy, interior, health and others that assisted with the
relief and rescue operations.
Following his brief speech at the airport, President Rouhani
visited Sarepol-Zahab in Kermanshah close to the Iraqi border, with the highest
casualties and property damage.
The devastating earthquake has left at least 400 people dead
and over 7,000 injured in western provinces of Iran. Seven provinces and 1,650
towns of Kermanshah province have sustained damage from the earthquake. 12,000
houses have completely collapsed and over 12,000 others sustained damage.
