Leader pardons, commutes sentences of 1007 convicted inmates
TEHRAN (defapress) – On the occasion of Prophet Mohammad and Imam Sadeq's birth anniversaries, Leader of Islamic Revolution has pardoned and commuted the sentences of 1007 prisoners.
The clemency had been previously proposed by the head of the
Judiciary Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani on the occasions of Prophet Mohammamd
and Imam Sadeq's (pbut) birth anniversaries.
It suggested for 1007 convicts of General and Revolutionary courts and also those of Judiciary Organization of the Armed Forces and State Discretionary Punishment Organization who had been identified having conditions which made them eligible for a state pardon or commutation, to which Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei agreed.
