"Security services managed to arrest for suspects while being on their way back to the liberated town of Annah, western Anbar. They were arrested during a security campaign to check identities of the suspects,” the source said, BasNews reported.

"Security services transferred the suspects to the detention cells in Ramadi for investigations,” the source, who preferred anonymity, added.

Earlier on the day, the command said it uncovered three underground tunnels and a pickup truck belonging to the group South of the city of Haditha, Anbar. 15 explosive devices were detonated in the city of Ramadi.

Seventeen ISIL militants were reportedly killed in an army airstrike near Wadi Hawran, North of Rutba in West of Anbar on Saturday.

Last week, army warplanes pounded an ISIL hideout, killing 27 militants, including foreign nationals.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said during his weekly press in November that his country has defeated ISIL over the military level, but will declare final victory after desert areas are purged of militants.

Earlier in November, Iraqi forces recaptured Anbar’s Western town of Rawa, the very last bastion under ISIL control.
