Surveys Show Enemy Failure to Misrepresent Iran Security

Addressing the Intelligence Ministry’s staff on Thursday, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said Iran has managed to weather serious crises over the past four decades by paying the least price, while many countries have had to declare a state of emergency to handle simple security issues.

Opinion polls conducted in the past few years show that people are highly satisfied with sustainable security in Iran, Shamkhani added, saying it indicates that the “enemies’ costly and organized attempts” to induce fear of insecurity in Iran have gone nowhere.

He further took a swipe at the US government for declaring Iran an obstacle to its illegitimate policies in the Middle East, saying that is why Washington has no compunction about doing anything to harm Iran, from hiring terrorists to launching anti-Iran propaganda campaign or imposing economic sanctions.

Shamkhani called for vigilance and readiness to counter the hostile plots of the US which he said spends all of its resources on spreading hatred and violence in the world.

In recent years, the Middle East has been plagued with Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIS or ISIL), which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.

However, Iran is considered by many experts as the “island of stability” in a region which faces many security challenges.

In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.

“Thank God and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” the Leader said.
