President Rouhani congratulates Syria on national day

Your Excellency Mr. Bashar Assad,

President of the Syrian Arab Republic,

Hello and may the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you

I offer my sincerest congratulations to your Excellency and the people of Syria on April 17, the national day and independence anniversary of that country.

As they have devoted their lives to achieve independence and drive colonialists out of their country, the devoted people of Syria have had indefatigable fight to foil the plots of enemies and save their country from the scourge of terrorism, achieving a new victory every day.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has stood by the Syrian government and people, and will continue its contribution until evil forces are repulsed and security and stability are restored to the entire Syrian Arab Republic.

I hope that we witness the final victory soon. As it has always stood by the Syrian nation in the fight against terrorism, the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to stand by you with all its facilities for rebuilding Syria.

I pray to the Almighty for your Excellency's health and success and the people of the Syrian Arab Republic's prosperity and felicity.
