Gov't Forces Preparing for Largest Military Operation against Terrorists in Southern Syria

The Syrian Army troops are preparing to kick off the largest military operation in the Southern province of Dara'a amid the last surrender-now warnings to terrorists issued by the Syrian-Russian forces, well-informed sources reported on Saturday.

Gov't Forces Preparing for Largest Military Operation against Terrorists in Southern SyriaTEHRAN (Defapress)- The field sources reported that the army men are preparing to launch a large-scale operation against terrorists in Dara'a province and Northern Sweida bordering Dara'a province which is under the occupation of the Al-Nusra front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at or the Levant Liberation Board) and other terrorist groups.

The sources further said that the Russian and Syrian fighter jets, the entire units of the army, including the Elite Forces, will take part in the upcoming operation.

Other sources reported on Friday that the Russian and Syrian forces warned the terrorists in Mohaja, Abta'a and Da'el regions to lay down arms and surrender before the start of the operation.

Also, local sources reported that the army has distributed hundreds of leaflets in the town of Ankhal, calling on the militants to hand over their arms and apply for government amnesty.

In a relevant development on Tuesday, the army forwarded a large number of forces and more military equipment to the town of Azra'a in Dara'a province.

A number of armored and personnel carrier vehicles were sent to 175th Regiment Base.

In the meantime, the army's helicopters dropped thousands of leaflets over militant-held regions, calling on the militants to agree to the army's peace offer.

A military sources pointed to the army's last ultimatum to the terrorists, saying that the army would launch its operation if the militants oppose Damascus's reconciliation plan.
