More Turkish Soldiers, Allied Militants Killed in Clashes with Kurds in Northern Syria

A number of Turkish troops and their allied militants were killed in heavy fighting with Kurdish militias in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo after two months of Turkish occupiers' control over the region, a media outlet reported on Saturday.

More Turkish Soldiers, Allied Militants Killed in Clashes with Kurds in Northern SyriaTEHRAN (Defapress)- Hawar news reported that a large number of Ankara forces have been killed or wounded in the Kurdish operation in Afrin region in the last two days.

Hawar news further said that the Kurds stormed a Turkish military base in the village of Qourtalaq in Shera region, killing two Turkish forces and a large number of their allied militants.

In the meantime, Ankara forces suffered several casualties in the Kurdish operation near the village of Mirmin, 7km East of the town of Afrin, it went on to say.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Thursday that a sum of 4,500 Kurdish militias were killed or held captive in the Ankara forces' Operation Olive Branch in Afrin.

Operation Euphrates Shield took place from August 2016 to March 2017 in Northern Syria along the Turkish border.
