TEHRAN (Defapress)- Iranian Deputy Interior Minister for Security and Law Enforcement Affairs Hossein Zolfaqari and Undersecretary of Turkey's Ministry of Interior Muhterem Ince in a phone conversation on Sunday stressed the need for continued cooperation in fighting terrorism and organized crimes.
During the conversation, the two sides expressed pleasure in the extensive relations between Tehran and Ankara, and laid stressed on continued cooperation in campaign against terrorism and organized crimes in the region as well as controlling common borders, particularly under the especial conditions reigning the region.
Zolfaqari, for his part, asked for Turkey's cooperation in capturing and extraditing suspects and culprits to Iran, specially those who have fled to Turkey after scams and fraud.
In relevant remarks in 2017, Ince had said that cooperation between Tehran and Ankara held great significance to restoration of regional security.
“Interior ministries of Iran and Turkey shared views and reached agreements on several matters of paramount importance, including fighting terrorism, fight against illegal trafficking and illegal immigration as well as security cooperation among the others,” he underlined.
