Iran, Azerbaijan sign anti-corruption agreement

The head of Iran’s General Inspection Organization, Naser Seraj signed a cooperation agreement with the head of Azerbaijan’s Anti-Corruption Organization, Kamran Aliyev.

Iran, Azerbaijan sign anti-corruption agreementTEHRAN (Defapress)–Signing this cooperation agreement with the Azerbaijani side in a joint press conference, Seraj said, “It is the 12th agreement signed between the two countries. Fortunately, we have a close and coordinated relation to discuss the issues of our countries”.

The head of Iran’s General Inspection Organization stated that “Aliyev is one of the most sympathetic authorities of Azerbaijan and we hope that through signing this agreement, we have no more convicts to exchange and in near future we will sign an Islamic ombudsman in Turkey”.

Aliyev, for his part, said, “Fighting against corruption is one of the political priorities for political leaders of Azerbaijan and the country has been joined in many actions toward fighting against corruption and related conventions and we need to focus on regional cooperation in which has a special role in anti-corruption measures”.

He added that “We have signed some memorandum of understandings with a number a countries and I’m happy to sign this agreement with Iran. I hope that the deal would introduce a new era in fighting against corruption between the two countries”.
