Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Keeps Rolling on Terrorists in Dara'a

TEHRAN (Defapress)- The Syrian Army imposed control over the town of Zalin in Northwestern Dara'a, heading towards Tal Zamlin.

Local sources, meanwhile, reported that the Syrian government forces have managed to impose control over 85 percent of lands in Dara'a after its advances against the terrorists over last 48 hours.

Dara'a

The Syrian Army continued to storm terrorists' strongholds in Northwestern Dara'a on Sunday, taking control over one more key region(s).

The army units imposed control over the town of Zalin in Northwestern Dara'a, heading towards Tal Zamlin.

In the meantime, terrorists in the town of Jasem in Northern Dara'a started surrendering their heavy weapons to the army men.

Local sources, meanwhile, reported that the army has managed to impose control over 85 percent of lands in Dara'a after its advances against the terrorists in the last two days.

On Saturday, the army forces engaged in clashes with the terrorists South of the town of Ankhal in Northern Dara'a, retaking control of the village of Kharbat al-Saraya and an adjacent hill as well as al-Motawwaq hills.

Meantime, militants in the town of Jassim in Northwestern Dara'a agreed to deliver control of the region and surrender their arms and military equipment to the army soldiers.

Local sources also reported that the militants agreed with rendering control of the strategic al-Hareh hill in Northwestern Dara'a near the Golan Heights in Quneitra province to the army troops, adding that residents of the town called on the terrorist groups to leave.

A small number of towns and villages in Northern and Northwestern Dara'a were under the terrorists' occupation after the army's recent advance.

Quneitra

A senior terrorist leader was killed during the army offensive in Quneitra, Southwest of Syria, on Sunday.

The army men stormed terrorists' positions again after liberating Mas'hara township and several other regions in Quneitra, moving towards Mas'hara hills.

A number of terrorists, including Jafar al-Khatib, a commander of Syria's Thowar Front affiliated to the Free Syrian Army, were killed in clashes with the army men in Mas'hara.

Field sources, meanwhile, reported that a large number of terrorists have fled towards the town of Naba'a al-Sakhar as the terrorist front in Southern Syria is collapsing under the heavy offensives of the army soldiers.

Damascus

The Syrian Army troops found a large depot of Israeli and American arms and ammunition in terrorists' positions in Eastern Qalamoun in Damascus province months after the region's liberation, a media outlet reported.

The Arabic-language website of Russia's state-run news agency, Sputnik, quoted a military source as saying that the army men continued cleansing operation in al-Petra region, Badiyeh (desert) and Eastern Qalamoun, discovering a large depot of arms mostly made in the US and Israel.

The report further said that the arms were sent to Eastern Qalamoun terrorists via Jordan and Badiyeh.

The report further said that the terrorists had hidden their arms and ammunition in underground hideouts, cemeteries, mountains and mines, adding that the army men found a large volume of Israeli and US-made arms, including TOW anti-tank missiles, missile launchers, cannons and anti-aircraft guns in terrorists' positions in Eastern Qalamoun.

Homs

The US-affiliated Aswad al-Sharqiyeh is preparing to leave the US-run al-Tanf base in Southern Homs at the borders with Jordan and Iraq, a media outlet reported on Sunday.

The Arabic-language al-Watan daily quoted a source that requested anonymity as disclosing that Aswad al-Sharqiyeh terrorists, affiliated to the US Army, are preparing to leave regions near the US-run al-Tanf base for regions under the control of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Northeastern Syria.

Al-Watan further said that Aswad al-Sharqiyeh is planning to hand over its arms and ammunition to Jordan to leave the region, adding that one of the former commanders of Aswad al-Sharqiyeh is making the needed coordination with the Syrian government and Russian forces over transferring militants and their family members.

Idlib

Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) and its allies are preparing for an imminent offensive on the Shiite towns of Fua'a and Kafraya in Northeastern countryside of Idlib city, news sources affiliated to dissidents claimed on Sunday.

The sources said that Tahrir al-Sham and its allied militants are now prepared for an imminent attack on Fua'a and Kafraya.

The sources said that the terrorists' attack on Fua'a and Kafraya is aimed at preventing the Syrian Army troops from conducting any operation in Idlib to break the siege on the Shiite towns.

The army is advancing rapidly against terrorists in Dara'a and is expected to purge Southern Syria of terrorists soon.
