Syria in Last 24 Hours: Terrorists Fail to Prevail over Army Positions in Hama Province

The Damascus Army engaged in fierce clashes with Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) and managed to repel their heavy offensive in Northwestern Hama over the past 24 hours.

Syria in Last 24 Hours: Terrorists Fail to Prevail over Army Positions in Hama ProvinceTEHRAN (Defapress)- Deployed in the villages of al-Ziyara and al-Qarqour, Tahrir al-Sham terrorists launched an offensive on the army in al-Mashari'a North of al-Ghaab Plain in Western Hama, but their offensive was repelled by the army soldiers.

Terrorists suffered heavy casualties in the failed attacks.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in provinces across Syria.

Hama

The Syrian Army units engaged in fierce clashes with Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at and managed to repel their heavy offensive in Northwestern Hama on Saturday.

Tahrir al-Sham terrorists, deployed in the villages of al-Ziyara and al-Qarqour, launched an offensive on the army in al-Mashari'a North of al-Ghaab Plain in Western Hama, but their offensive was repelled by the army soldiers.

Terrorists suffered heavy casualties in the failed attacks.

In the meantime, the army's artillery and missile units shelled heavily terrorists' positions and movements in al-Ankavi and al-Qastoun regions in al-Ghaab Plain, in the village of al-Zaiyara and in the town of Jisr al-Shughour.

The artillery and missile fire also cut off the movements between terrorists' positions in al-Latamina, al-Araba'ein and Kafr Zita in Northern Hama and in Jisr al-Shughour and Badama in Western Idlib.

Aleppo

At least two Turkish Army soldiers and several Ankara-backed militants were killed in three separate attacks by the Kurdish militias in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo on Saturday.

The Kurdish-language Hawar news quoted the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) as reporting that a bomb, planted by the YPG went off on a road connecting Fafertin to Borj Heidar in Shirawa region, killing a number of Ankara-backed militants.

In the meantime, the YPG fighters detonated another bomb near a position of the Turkish soldiers in the village of Basoutala in Shirava region, killing a soldier and four militants of Firqa al-Hamza and injuring a Turkish army soldier and three more militants.

Also, the YPG carried out an ambush operation in the village of Kimar in Shirava, killing a Turkish soldier and three militants and wounding two others.

Meantime, a fresh round of clashes between Ankara-backed militant groups in occupied Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo left a number of militias dead on Saturday.

Terrorists of Ahrar al-Sharqiyeh engaged in fierce clashes with other Ankara-backed terrorists in al-Karama School Street near a base of the so-called military police in the occupied town of Afrin that left tens of casualties on both sides.

The entire commercial centers were closed and curfew was declared in the town following the infighting.

In the meantime, local sources in Shirawa region reported that a bomb went off among the Turkish troops and allied militants in the village of Baseleh, adding that there is yet no report on the precise number of casualties.

Afrin has grown into a hotbed of tensions in Northern Syria after it came under the Turkish troops' occupation.

Sweida

The Syrian Army forwarded a long convoy of fresh forces and equipment to Eastern Sweida on Saturday to purge the region of the remaining pockets of ISIL terrorists.

The army dispatched a long convoy, including a large number of soldiers and heavy military hardware, to Northeastern Sweida to defeat the remaining pockets of the ISIL terrorists in Eastern Badiyeh (desert).

In the meantime, the army aircraft pounded the positions and movements of the terrorists in Sweida's Badiyeh on Saturday, inflicting major losses on them.

The army's missile and artillery units opened heavy fire at ISII's positions in al-Kara'a and al-Diyatha regions in Northeastern Sweida and in the village of al-Qizah al-Shamali in Eastern Sweida, targeting and destroying a convoy of terrorists' vehicles and killing a large number of militants.

Dara'a

The Syrian Army continued cleansing operation in Northern Dara'a on Saturday, and found a mass grave of over fifty government soldiers killed by the terrorists around five years ago.

The army men discovered a mass grave of 51soldiers of the 138th Battalion in the town of Da'el in Northern Dara'a, the sources said, adding that the soldiers had been killed in terrorists' attack on the army's Air Defense Battalion Base in 2013.
