Envoy: Austria to Increase Investment in IranTEHRAN (Defapress)- Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Stefan Schulz underlined that his country will widen investment in developing Iran's water resources, renewable energies and tourism."Environment-friendly supply and security of water resources, renewable energies and sustainable tourism are among the objectives specified for the economic plan to cooperate with Iran," Schulz said during his visit to the Central province of Yazd on Tuesday.

He said that Austrian companies have provided financial support to establish a center for sustainable and renewable energies in Tehran, adding that certainly numerous other firms are prepared to enter Iran for cooperation in the field of renewable energies.

Schulz said good coordination between the two countries will lead to further cooperation between the two countries, but meantime, stressed that Iran does not need a winning horse.

In relevant remarks last Saturday, Schulz underlined continued attempts by his country and other European states to help Iran maintain its financial channels with the world after the US sanctions.

"The EU's main objective is maintenance of financial and communication channels so that Iran can enjoy the benefits of the international(ly-endorsed 2015) nuclear deal," Schulz said.

He added that the EU and Austria are ready to help Iran pass through the present sanctions conditions.
Schulz said that new energies and solar energy, tourism industry and proper water use methods are three fields for Austria's investment in Iran.

"97% of the Austrian companies are small and mid-size firms and they can be effective in the growth and development of Iran and Yazd (province)," he added.
