Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels Terrorists' Heavy Offensive in IdlibTEHRAN (Defapress)- The Syrian Army engaged in tough battle with a group of Tahrir al-Sham terrorists in al-Mahjourah Battalion Base South of the town of Tal al-Toqan in Southeastern Idlib, fending off their attack.

Tahrir al-Sham retreated to evade more casualties after suffering heavy casualties and sustaining damage in its military hardware.
Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in provinces across Syria.

Idlib

The Syrian Army forces managed to fend off a heavy attack of Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at in Southeastern Idlib, inflicting major losses on the militants on Tuesday.

The army engaged in tough battle with a group of Tahrir al-Sham terrorists in al-Mahjourah Battalion Base South of the town of Tal al-Toqan in Southeastern Idlib, warding off their attack.

Tahrir al-Sham retreated to evade more casualties after suffering heavy casualties and sustaining damage in its military hardware.

In the meantime, the army's artillery and missile units pounded terrorists' positions and movements near the town of al-Janaberah in Northwestern Hama, and inflicted major damage on their construction machinery that were digging more trenches.

Meantime, people in a small but key town in Idlib province took to the streets, protesting against Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at after the terrorist group arrested a number of pro-peace civilians on Tuesday.

Tens of people in the town of Ma'arat Mesrin demonstrated against Tahrir al-Sham, calling on Tahrir al-Sham to release the captured civilians.

The uprising came after Tahrir al-Sham captured 20 people on charges of promoting peace with Damascus.

In the meantime, Tahrir al-sham and other terrorist groups suffered heavy casualties in 10 attacks by unknown assailants in Idlib province in the last 24 hours.

The Syrian army also continued dispatching more troops and military equipment to Northern Syria in preparation for its major imminent operation in Idlib.

Raqqa

The US Army and its allied Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) forwarded a new military convoy to Tabaqa airbase in Western Raqqa in Northeastern Syria on Tuesday.

The US forces and the SDF sent a joint military column from their base near Raqqa city to Tabaqa military airport.

A convoy, including 15 military vehicles carrying a number of gunmen on board, left their base near Raqqa city for SDF-run Tabaqa airbase via al-Ba'ath Dam and the village of al-Jazrah.

The convoy was accompanied by US-led coalition helicopters.

In the meantime, a number of SDF militias were killed or wounded in an attack by unknown raiders in the village of al-Salhabiyeh Qarbi West of Raqqa.

Lattakia

The Russian military has deployed several Pantsir S1 missile systems around Humeimim airbase in Western Lattakia to counter terrorists' drone attacks, Russia's state news agency reported on Tuesday.

The Arabic-language website of Sputnik news agency reported that Russia has stationed several units of Pantsir S1 missile system that falls in the category of self-propelled, medium-range surface-to-air missile systems at Humeimim airbase to repel drone and helishot attacks by terrorists.

In the meantime, former Commander of Russian Air Defense Units General Alexander Gorokov said that detecting terrorists' drones by radars is a hard mission as they are mainly in small size.

A large number of enemy drones have been recently downed over Humeimim that is home to the Russian warplanes.
