Iran implementing JCPOA commitments

Iran implementing JCPOA commitments'Since the last General Conference, we have continued to verify and monitor the implementation by Iran of its nuclear-related commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action,' Amano said addressing the 62nd Annual Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference.

'Iran is implementing its nuclear-related commitments under the JCPOA. It is essential that Iran continue to fully implement those commitments,' he added.

Amano had earlier in a statement addressing a meeting of IAEA Board of Governors announced that Iran has complied with its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Meanwhile, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali-Akbar Salehi is in Vienna to attend (IAEA) General Conference.

In a meeting with Director General of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation Alexy Likhachov which was held on the sidelines of the event, Salehi discussed the need for boosting Iran-Russia cooperation in the fields of scientific, technological, research and development (R&D) activities and the idea was welcomed by the Russian side.

The two sides also discussed latest status of the nuclear power plants being under construction in Iran.

The 62nd IAEA conference began on Monday in Vienna and continues for four days.

Representatives from the IAEA’s Member States, at ministerial level and above, will discuss key elements of the Agency’s priorities in its work on the peaceful use of nuclear technologies.
