Belgrade to Defy US' Anti-Iran SanctionsTodorovic made the remarks on Tuesday in Tehran while meeting with Chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh.

"We will continue our cooperation with Iran more and more," the Serbian diplomat underlined.

Referring to Serbia's policy to develop interactions with Iran, and said that there are a number of solutions to the development of economic ties between the two countries.

"Iran not only does not support terrorism, but is the target of terrorism itself," Todorovic said, laying emphasis on the significance of Iran's role in combating terrorism.

Serbia's ambassador to Tehran described the parliamentary interactions between Iran and Serbia as positive, and said that Serbia is seeking to expand its relations with Iran in all fields.

He had already downplayed the impacts of the US sanctions on his country's relations and interactions with Iran in late October.

"We have very good ties with Iran, Russia, China and many other countries and the US sanctions do not affect our ties with Iran," he added.

Todorovic underscored excellent trade relations with Iran, saying that the US withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal has not affected the bilateral economic ties between the two countries.

He also described Iran as a country which does not interfere in other states' affairs, rejecting allegations that Tehran supports terrorism.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Belgrade in February had also voiced his country's willingness to broaden bilateral relations with Iran.

"There was no limitation with regard to broadening of Serbia-Iran cooperation," President Vučić said during the meeting with Zarif in the Serbian capital.

The Serbian president underlined that his country was ready to strengthen all-out cooperation with Iran.

The Iranian foreign minister and the Serbian president also discussed cooperation in international organizations, and emphasized that conflicts in different parts of the world must be settled through diplomatic approaches.
