Iranian Speaker Calls for More Fraternity among Muslims

"I congratulate you on the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)," wrote Ali Larijani in his letter of felicitations.

In the message, he hoped to see all-out cooperation among Muslim countries and enhancement of parliamentary relations among them more than before.

He also wished for health and success of all the speakers and members of the Islamic parliaments, and progress and prosperity for people and government in their countries.

A day earlier on Sunday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani sent a similar message to the Islamic world during his speech addressing other heads of Iran's branches of power, government officials, ambassadors of the Islamic countries as well as invitees to the International Conference on Islamic Unity who earlier held meeting with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamnenei.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined his country's policy of expanding relations with all Muslim countries, and said the main reason for the US and its allies' hostilities towards Tehran is its vigilant eyes to their crimes in the region.

Rouhani said that the enemies of the Iranian nation only want one thing from Iran, which has nothing to do with the country’s nuclear program and the JCPOA; “they only want us to turn a blind eye to whatever they are doing in the region. They want us to remain silent and do nothing about their wrongdoings in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and North Africa.”

“Our path is determined,” he said, adding, “We deem our neighbors in the region our brothers and the security of the region in line with our own.”

“We are extending a hand of friendship toward all Muslims in the world,” President Rouhani underlined.

In relevant remarks on Saturday, President Rouhani blasted the US for its insulting behavior towards the regional nations, stressing that his country was ready to support the Saudi people's interests without any expectation.

President Rouhani made the remarks in Tehran on Saturday, addressing the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference with the theme of 'Quds, Axis of Unity among Ummah'.

He referred to the $450bln contract between the US and Saudi Arabia, and said Riyadh thinks that its security is guaranteed with this contract, while the Americans have said that they use the Saudis as milking cows and threatened that they cannot survive even for two weeks if Washington does not support them.

"It is better for them to ask their masters to respect them at least in the public or at least do not accept their masters' continued insults," Rouhani said.

"We are ready to defend the Saudi people's interests with all our power against terrorism, aggressors and superpowers and as we rushed to assist the Iraqi, Syrian, Afghan and Yemeni people, we are ready to support them without any expectation," he added.

"We will not even want a $450bln contract from you and we will not insult you because we consider you as our brothers and consider the regional nations and people of Mecca and Medina our brothers," President Rouhani said, addressing the Saudis.

He lashed out at the US and its allies for pursuing Iranophobia policies, and said, "You should not fear Iran and Islam and you should only fear the criminals, traitors and those who insult you."
