Syrian Army Begins Amassing Troops in Northeast Lattakia after Russian Airstrikes
TEHRAN (defapress)- The Syrian Army has begun amassing troops again in Northeastern Lattakia on Tuesday after the Russian Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes over Jisr al-Shughour on Sunday evening.
According to a military source with the Syrian Army convoy that was sent to Northeastern Lattakia, several units from the 4th Armored Division deployed to the provincial border of Idlib, massdar news reported.
The source said that the army reinforcements were sent South of Kabani, a terrorist stronghold near al-Ghaab Plain, after the Russian Air Force heavily targeted the Turkestani Islamic Party (TIP) and Tahrir Al-Sham Hay’at Sest of Jisr al-Shughour.
He would add that the army is once again thinking about launching an offensive in this area, as the terrorists have repeatedly violated the ceasefire agreement in Lattakia, Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama provinces.
