Iran Defies US Pressures on Oil SaleJahangiri said on Monday that Iran is able to resolve economic problems caused by the imposition of US unilateral sanctions against his country.

In spite of all the US plots, Iran will export its oil and will transfer its money inside the country, Jahangiri noted.

He said that the government is able to supply people's basic commodities and medicine.

The US withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), discredited Washington in the world, Jahangiri added.

Earlier on Friday, China's state-run energy giant Sinopec offered a three-billion-dollar deal to further develop an Iranian oilfield the two countries are already working on, media reports said.

Also on Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Washington’s pressures on Iran will bear no fruit for the US, adding that all anti-Tehran hostilities are intended to stop the growth of the nation.

Rouhani said that Iranian nation are smarter than what the enemies think, calling on ministers and governor-generals to work harder for resolving problems and evading US’ anti-Iranian sanctions.

Speaking at the joint meeting of the Council of Ministers and Governor-Generals today, the Iranian head of state said, “Americans are concerned about the Iranian nation’s capabilities and that is why they are seeking to put maximum pressure, but these pressures will be fruitless."

Stating that, “sanctions, monopoly and multiple rates create corruption,” Rouhani said, “The best way to fight corruption is transparency."

“Filtering will be gradually removed,” he said, adding, “We need to take advantage of the modern technologies by relying on the law and morality.”

He also said, “Iranian nation are much smarter than what the enemies think, but this does not mean that they have no problems."

Pointing to Iran's space mission on Tuesday, Rouhani said, “We were able to enter the space, and this is very good for agriculture and environment, using the technology to gather the required information for protection of forests and pastures.”

President went on to add, “of course, there are still minor bugs in this regard, but we will fix them within few months."

Making similar remarks on last Tuesday, Jahangiri underlined the US inability to continue pressures and sanctions against Iran for a long period of time.

"The US created al-Qaeda and ISIL but Iran confronted them and finally Trump himself was forced to acknowledge that they have spent $7,000bln in the region but gained nothing," Jahangiri said, addressing an economic forum in Tehran on Tuesday.

He referred to Washington's embargos against Iran, and said, "This period will not last long because the US sanctions are very irrational and lack backing."

Jahangiri said the US withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal indicated the country's bullying policies, cautioning that Washington does not want a powerful Iran in the region.

In relevant remarks on January 05, Jahangiri said that the Americans had taken aim at the Iranian people’s livelihood but their dream to bring Iran’s oil sales to zero was not fulfilled.

Jahangiri said that the Americans have taken aim at the Iranian people’s livelihood, as they impose sanctions on basic goods and raw materials needed for production.

“US is trying to stop major Iranian income resource, that’s to say oil sales, as they in their own imagination wanted to bring oil sales to zero but they failed with the grace of God,” he said.
