Threatening Iran to Have Regretting Consequences

Addressing a gathering of commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and other Armed Forces in the southern province of Hormozgan on Wednesday, Major General Rashid underlined Iran’s defense doctrine and said the power of the Armed Forces gives the people “peace of mind” and enables the government to further its agenda.

“While we will not be the first one to threaten and (wage) war against any country, we will make anyone who makes threats (against us) regret confronting the great nation of Iran,” he stressed.

“So, while we do not welcome any war, we are fully prepared to respond to any aggression on our country,” the commander went on to say.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.

Back in February 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, hitting back at the enemies for disputing the country’s missile program.

“Without a moment of hesitation, the country must move to acquire whatever is necessary for defense, even if the whole world is opposed to it,” Ayatollah Khamenei said at the time.
