FM: Iran Not Given Any ‘Operational Package’ on JCPOA YetTEHRAN (Defapress)-Nuclear Comments FM: Iran Not Given Any ‘Operational Package’ on JCPOA YetSpeaking to reporters upon his arrival in South Africa on Tuesday evening, Mohammad Javad Zarif said all of the remaining JCPOA parties (Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany) have reiterated their commitment to taking the necessary measures to ensure that Iran will be enjoying the economic privileges of the nuclear deal during the most recent JCPOA Joint Commission meeting held at the level of experts in Tehran.

However, he added, “we have not still received the required operational package.”
Zarif noted that Russia, China and the EU members have announced that they are working on that package.

All of the parties are working to figure out how to guarantee Iran’s interests under the JCPOA, the minister underlined.

“As we mentioned before, the time is limited, and we are holding extensive consultations both with the JCPOA members and with our non-JCPOA partners in this limited time,” Zarif explained.

On May 8, the US president pulled his country out of the JCPOA, which was achieved in Vienna in 2015 after years of negotiations among Iran and the Group 5+1.

Following the US exit, Iran and the remaining parties, namely Group 4+1, have launched talks to save the accord.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has underlined that any decision to keep the JCPOA running without the US should be conditional on “practical guarantees” from the Europeans.
