Iran condemns Israeli 'provocative acts' in Quds

~Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif condemned Israeli provocative acts in the Holy Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque.

Zarif in a message to foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said Israeli measures aim to Judaize Palestine, and blasted silence of the international communities on these acts of aggression.

He also called on the Islamic states to take serious measures, and bring an end to Israeli hostilities.

Zarif reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to adopt an urgent and effective measure in support of Qods and al-Aqsa Mosque jointly with the OIC.

Tensions have been running high in the occupied Palestinian territories since late October when the Israeli regime ordered a full closure of the al-Aqsa Mosque in East al-Quds. Tel Aviv later opened the holy site after widespread protests.

Palestinians are extremely angry at Tel Aviv’s raids and restrictions, considering them as part of Israel’s plan to Judaize and desecrate the holy Islamic site.

Palestinians argue that al-Quds is the capital of a future Palestinian independent state, and its heritage should remain intact.

Over the past decades, Israel has tried to change the demographic makeup of al-Quds by constructing illegal settlements, destroying historical sites and expelling the local Palestinian population.
