JCPOA valid as long as being fruitful On renegotiating the Iran nuclear deal with the 5+1 group of countries, Rezaei told reporters that Iran will never enter talks on JCPOA with other parties, including the US and Europe. "In case the slightest violation occurs, we will take appropriate measures since it makes no sense to stick to a soulless and ineffective agreement,” he explained.

The official later added that the JCPOA would remain valid for the Iranian nation as long as it was effective and advantageous while an agreement only seeking to prevent us from nuclear activities would be automatically abolished.

Rezaei went on to stress that the United States was after preserving the text of the nuclear deal while killing its soul; "with their pressures, Americans want to prevent cooperation of the European countries with Iran, in which case the Iranian nation and government will leave the agreement.”

Secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council later touched upon liberation of Kirkuk, saying "Iran had no interference with the process and it was carried out merely by the Iraqi people and army.”

He rejected the claims that forces from outside Iraq had entered Kirkuk and contributed to the event.

Mohsen Rezaei also maintained that recent actions by Iraq’s Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani had pushed back the northern Iraqi region for ten years.

"At a time when ISIL is about to collapse, the US has arrived to preserve a role for themselves,” concluded the official, recalling that the ISIL group had been created by Americans themselves.
