The head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with the Syrian President.

The head of the Armed Forces General
Staff and the delegation met with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the
defa press Defense Forces Group, said.
In this meeting, Major General
Bagheri congratulated the Syrian President on the recent victory of the Syrian
army and the Syrian Armed Forces and expressed his hope that terrorism would be
eradicated as soon as possible across the Syrian territory.
He also emphasized the continued
support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Syrian people and government.
The Syrian president also thanked the incumbent Supreme Leader and the
Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran for supporting Syria in
the fight against terrorism.
Bashar al-Assad called on Maj. Gen. Bagheri to convey his warm and warmest
greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the government and
the nation of Iran.
The head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of
Iran has traveled to Syria with a view to enhancing Iran-Syria's defense and
military cooperation, consulting, co-opting and continuing cooperation in
combating terrorism, as well as examining the solutions to stability and security
in the region.
According to the report, Major
General Bagheri also met with the Chief of Staff of the Army and the Syrian
Armed Forces and the Syrian Defense Minister during the visit.
