International group of DefaPress: Fire clashes in eastern Ukraine over three years after the start of the war in the region, it’s still flaring. The clashes between the Ukrainian Army and Ukrainian Police and the Russian militias stationed in neighboring eastern regions of Russia since 2014 and at the same time as the collapse of the former government of the country, and then the separation of the Crimean peninsula from the territory of Ukraine and its annexation to Russia, has begun.

Due to the resumption of conflicts, Emmanuel Macron, French President and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, issued a joint statement, they demanded the immediate establishment of peace between the parties involved in eastern Ukraine.

The eastern Ukrainian crisis and the efforts of international parties to compromise between Kiev and Moscow
An interesting point in this statement is the unilateral judgment of two senior German and French officials. Merkel and Macron, by ignoring the role of the Ukrainian Army in attacking civilian areas in the cities of Donetsk, Luhansk, Donbass and other Russian regions of Eastern Ukraine, have called for Russian-backed militants from Russia and Russia to end the Conflicts.

The reason for this biased reaction can be seen in two dimensions: The first is the Ukrainian effort to stay in the EU. Since the current government of the country is a United States and EU ally, the European Union has, in addition to political support, provided conditions for Ukrainian nationals to travel to EU countries without a visa. The presence of the Soviet Union member states in the European Union has always been one of the main points of disagreement between Moscow and Brussels. Russia does not at all want the independent states in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus to sit on the same table with their former and current rivals, and a single decision, which is commonly in conflict with Moscow's interests.

The second dimension is to put pressure on Russia and its regional allies in Eastern Europe. The Russian government is the main competitor of the United States and the European Union in Asia and Eastern Europe, and the best way to amuse this strong rival is to engage the country on the western and southwest borders, where their countries are under the influence of the United States and the European Union.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, NATO became the closest military allies to newly independent states or out of the Soviet Union. An example of this can be seen in Poland, which, since the end of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, has become a major NATO missile base near the Russian north-western borders.

It is natural that Russia, after the Caucasus war (the battle with the Georgian army in South Ossetia in the summer of 2008), is much more sensitive to the condition in the Caucasus and Eastern Europe regions, especially Ukraine, which is the most important Soviet republic after the Russian Federation and one of the largest European countries, pay attention.

For this reason, as soon as the Russian unified state of Russia collapsed in Kyiv, the Russian military forces first arrived in its cities, such as Sevastopol, to support the Russian population of the Crimean peninsula. In the next step, the Russian people of the region voted to separate from Ukraine and return to Russia by holding a referendum, which was declared illegal by the new Ukrainian government.

The eastern Ukrainian crisis and the efforts of international parties to compromise between Kiev and Moscow

At the same time as the reburial in eastern Ukraine, media outlets are bombing media together. While the Ukrainian army introduces Russia as the main cause of the crisis in Ukraine, relying on the Crimea, the Russians, focusing on the support of the Ukrainian people from Hitler and the German armed forces during the Second World War, and then their relationship with the West, are fascists for the Ukrainians. Nazi and hired by the United States.

Regarding the hard-line positions of the two sides in relation to the conflicts in eastern Ukraine, any peaceful action in this region, which guarantees the unity of the Ukrainian land and simultaneously perception the citizenship rights of the rural population in the eastern part of the country, is far removed from the available. You should not expect the calm and consistency in this area in the short term.
