TEHRAN (defapress)- Senior Assistant to the Iranian Foreign Minister and senior negotiator in Astana talks Hossein Jaberi Ansari underlined that confronting and isolating the terrorists still tops the agenda in resolving the Syrian crisis.

He reiterated that the fight against terrorism and Syrian-Syrian talks are in line with putting an end to the Syrian crisis.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Jaberi Ansari referred to his meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, saying the latest developments in Syria, Sochi summit’s achievements and the upcoming negotiations were discussed.

"Attempts are underway with Russia, the United Nations and other international players to find solution to the Syrian crisis soon," he said.

Jaberi Ansari said that all political processes, including Astana and Geneva talks, should be coordinated.

In a relevant development in late January, Jaberi Ansari and UN's Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura in a meeting in the Russian resort city of Sochi discussed the latest developments in Syria.

During the meeting on the sidelines of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi, Jaberi Ansari and de Mistura underlined the need for continuing consultations and cooperation to the Syrian crisis.

The two sides also reviewed the process of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress held in Sochi, as well as the actions and plans of the UN envoy for Syria.
