Commander: IRGC to Equip 'Rapid Reaction' Units as Priority

TEHRAN (Defapress)- "We want to increase the quality of equipment, modernize tanks and personnel carriers and enhance the level of training for our troops," General Pourjamshidian said on Saturday.

"We will also have special investment on the rapid reaction units" and will boost the quality of their trainings and their equipment, he added.

In relevant remarks last month, Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari announced plans to further enhance the power and equipment of rapid reaction forces.

"One of the most important plans and activities of the Ground Force is equipping the rapid reaction brigades and renovation of the sites and equipment of these units," General Heidari said, addressing the Ground Force commanders and personnel in Tehran.

"These plans are among the priorities of the Ground Force's agenda in the current (Iranian) year (which started on March 21)," he added.
