TEHRAN (Defapress) - Bloomberg reported that the 2 giant oil tankers, Coswisdom Lake and South Loyalty, each capable of carrying about 2 million barrels of crude oil, bypassed in the Strait of Hormuz after the US airstrikes on Iran and the increased risk of a military response that could involve commercial ships in the region.
These 2 empty tankers then moved south, away from the entrance of the Persian Gulf. Some ships may prefer to stay outside the Strait of Hormuz, especially if they expect to be delayed for loading due to high tensions in the port.
Before this, in the early hours of the American attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, the British oil tanker "Kohzan Maru" with the British flag also changed its course in the Strait of Hormuz and escaped to the south.
Currently, all eyes are on this strait and even though this strait is still open for the passage of ships, many believe that Iran may close this strait soon.
