U.S. Lacks the Capacity for a New Conflict with Iran

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), addressed the potential for escalating tensions in West Asia. He remarked: "In the past, the U.S. entered wars with its full might; currently, it is certainly not in a position to launch a new conflict that would yield any meaningful new gains."

Pointing to the heavy losses sustained by U.S. forces in the West Asia region, Brigadier General Mohebbi added: "Most U.S. bases in the region have become inactive. Furthermore, U.S. troops are exhausted and worn down, having withdrawn hundreds of kilometers away from Iran."

He noted: "Technically and militarily, the U.S. is incapable of starting a new conflict. Yet, given the proximity of the elections, they might attempt to manufacture achievements. We are not ruling out any possibilities and remain fully prepared to respond, and this time, our response will be far more severe. Even if U.S. actions are limited in scope, the world would face a serious energy crisis."

Regarding the morale and psychological state of IRGC personnel, the spokesperson said: "The morale of our combatants, from commanders to the specialized troops stationed at missile launchers and those operating in the field, is so exceptionally high that one feels humbled in their presence."

Highlighting the steadfast dedication of the personnel stationed at the launchers, Brigadier General Mohebbi emphasized: "Despite the lack of basic amenities and facing extreme environmental conditions, such as temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius and high humidity, their spirit is so indomitable that one cannot help but feel a sense of personal inadequacy when standing before them. The morale of these combatants, their ingenuity, patriotism, and commitment to ideals are truly remarkable."

In response to a question regarding whether the IRGC possesses weapons that have not yet been deployed in the conflict, he stated: "Naturally, no country employs its entire arsenal, nor does it deploy its most advanced assets first. For a long time, we utilized weaponry manufactured decades ago; we would never deploy a weapon intended for highly specific, critical circumstances in less demanding situations."

Addressing the potential dismantling of U.S. military bases in regional nations, the IRGC spokesperson remarked: "Countries in the region have come to realize that U.S. bases have contributed nothing to their security; in fact, they have compromised it. They will eventually come to accept this reality fully. The 'Mecca Agreement' demonstrated their understanding that alliances with foreign powers are of no benefit to them, leading them to pursue a regional pact instead."

Brigadier General Mohebbi added: "We have always sought friendship with these nations; we share many commonalities and a common destiny. If the region is insecure for Iran, could it possibly be secure for these other nations? Certainly not."

He continued: "Regional nations must take responsibility for their own security. We, for our part, are prepared to enter into joint agreements with them to ensure security through a regional, indigenous framework."

Elsewhere in the interview, the IRGC spokesperson discussed the organization's open letter to the American people, noting: "It is our impression that the American public remains unaware of many realities, as their leaders lie to them and withhold the truth. Furthermore, their media outlets are subject to strict control." Brigadier General Mohebbi added: "Through this letter, we sought to shed light on some of the realities. The high cost of America’s warmongering comes out of the pockets of its own people and ends up in the pockets of a select few within its ruling establishment."

He noted: "Coming from thousands of kilometers away to martyr our Leader, our commanders, and our scientists, and threatening to dismember Iran, is something we find hard to believe is the desire of the American people. What enmity could exist between the two nations?"
