Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, wrote in a message: "When, following defeat and humiliation in front of Iran, they travel to Athens to craft a narrative of a Civilizational War, they would do well to read another crucial chapter of history: the moment a Roman emperor knelt before Shapur I of the Sasanian Empire. Whoever invokes history must be prepared for its repetition."
