Syrian Army Sending More Military Convoys to Manbij as Turkey Continues Threats

TEHRAN (defapress)- The Damascus Army continued sending fresh troops to Manbij as talks between the government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Eastern Euphrates are underway.

Syrian Army Sending More Military Convoys to Manbij as Turkey Continues ThreatsThe Smart news website affiliated to the militant groups reported that the Syrian Army's military convoy comprising tens of military and armored vehicles as well as heavy artillery and weaponry together with the Syrian troops are moving towards Northern Syria from Homs province.

It pointed to the passage of Syrian army's military convoy from Homs-Hama highway, and said that the convoy has moved towards Manbij.

A senior SDF Commander, Ridur Khalil, pointed to the continued talks between the Syrian government and SDF over a final solution for Manbij, and said this solution will be extended to other regions in Eastern Euphrates.

Khalil pointed to the fact that the Syrian Army is much likely to deploy at the Northern borders with Turkey, and noted that the SDF forces might join the Syrian Army.

Meantime, the Turkish Army sent more military hardware and equipment to Urfa region near the border.

The Turkish Army has extensively sent troops to Urfa, Mardin and Dyarbakir along borders with Syria and also along borders with Iraq in recent days.

In a relevant development on Saturday, field sources reported that the Syrian Army kept forces on high alert to respond to any possible military assault by the Turkish troops and allied militants on the town of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo.

The sources said that the Damascus forces, deployed in Manbij, were on alert to counter any attack by the Turkish soldiers and Ankara-backed militants.

The sources went on to say that the Army Command ordered Presidential Guard Forces and other Damascus soldiers to give a crushing response to any military operation by the Ankara forces in Manbij region.

They further said that the Ankara forces started preparing for a military operation in Manbij after the Syrian Army's arrival in the region.

The sources quoted Ziad Hajji Obeid, Commander of the militants of Turkey-backed National Army, as saying that a sum of 15,000 militants from his group prepared to enter Manbij, adding that almost 25,000 gunmen of the Ankara-backed Free Army were preparing to enter the towns of Tal Abyadh and Ra'as al-Ein.
