Israel's deadliest strike on al-Mawasi ‘safe zone’ in South Gaza

TEHRAN (defapress) - More than 70 Palestinians have been killed and hundreds are wounded in Israeli military strikes on al-Mawasi, located west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.  The casualties were subsequently transported to hospitals, with many more feared trapped beneath the rubble.

Initial reports indicate a new Israeli massacre in the Al-Mawasi area, which is home to hundreds of thousands of displaced families.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health on Saturday put the death toll at 71 people and said 289 others were injured, including some critically wounded.

Al-Mawasi has been designated as a safe humanitarian zone by the Israeli army, which has been demanding Palestinians from all over the Gaza Strip to move to the area—falsely claiming the area was a safe haven—since the outbreak of the war in early October 2023.
