TEHRAN (Defapress) - A group of Democratic lawmakers in the state of New York has proposed a bill that would prohibit the display of flags and symbols associated with the Hamas and Hezbollah movements, with violators facing up to 4 years in prison.
According to the Zionist media, Ynet, this proposal comes in response to the increase in gatherings where protesters against the policies of the Zionist regime carry Hamas and Hezbollah flags.
The drafters of this law aim to classify these symbols as prohibited, similar to the swastika and other racist symbols that have been banned previously.
This move comes amid widespread protests in the United States, particularly in New York, in support of Palestinians during the recent Zionist regime's war on Gaza. These protests have also continued at many American universities, in some cases leading to clashes between protesting students and police, resulting in the arrest of dozens.
U.S. President Donald Trump, during his election campaign, had promised to suppress pro-Palestinian student protests.
