The French president advisor is in Tehran within the framework of economic and political consultations between Iran and France," Qassemi told reporters on Monday.
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman reiterated that the two countries are in contact to coordinate the talks on Syria, expected to be held mid-September in the Kazakh capital, Astana.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Qassemi said that two Saudi delegations are likely to visit Iran after the Hajj rituals.
He said that Tehran has issued visas for members of the Saudi delegation, adding, "The Saudis are to only visit the diplomatic buildings in Iran."
In relevant remarks in early July, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called for the continuation of political negotiations between Tehran and Paris.
"Frequent bilateral meetings will remove the obstacles in the way of the two countries' relations, the economic obstacles in particular," the Iranian foreign minister said in a meeting with Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development Christian Masset in Tehran.
The Iranian foreign minister expressed the hope that both sides would take steps to broaden cooperation.
The top Iranian diplomat also pointed to the latest developments in the Middle East, and expressed the country’s readiness to dispatch humanitarian aid to the Syrian people.
"As Iran seeks a political solution to the existing problems in Syria, it welcomes any initiative by the French government to find a political solution to the current conflict in Syria,” Zarif added.
