TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Zionist regime carried out heavy and intense attacks on various locations and ports in Yemen on Sunday night, hours after the Yemeni Army targeted the occupied Palestinian territories in a missile operation. These attacks and operations are part of the ongoing campaign by Yemen’s Ansar Allah and its Popular Army since the first month of the Gaza war in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip against the Zionist regime.
Yahya Saree, the spokesman for Yemen’s Armed Forces, stated on Monday regarding Yemen’s large-scale operations against the Zionist regime, "In response to the aggression of this illegitimate occupying regime and in support of the Palestinian people, a joint missile and drone operation was carried out, targeting Ben Gurion Airport, the Ashkelon power plant, and the port of Ashdod with hypersonic missiles."
What has particularly drawn attention in this context is the unwavering support of Yemen’s political and religious leaders, alongside its military commanders, for the people of Gaza. Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, emphasized in a speech marking Ashura that "the Zionist enemy is today committing massacres and genocide against the Palestinian people, carrying out all forms of crimes and injustices against the people of Gaza."
In reality, Yemen’s leaders see their support for the people of Gaza and Palestinians in the besieged strip not just as a duty but as a religious obligation. They believe that the path to justice requires confronting the oppression and tyranny of the U.S. and the Zionist regime. Moreover, the Yemeni people consider it their sacred duty to oppose the crimes of the Zionist regime and its primary supporter, the U.S., with all their strength, even if it means sacrificing their lives on the battlefield against the Zionist enemy.
However, the Zionist regime, which has so far failed to halt Ansar Allah and the Yemeni Popular Army’s operations in support of Gaza through military aggression, launched a massive attack on Yemen on Sunday night, targeting the country’s ports and power plants with 53 bombs.
Yemen’s operations have not been limited to the occupied Palestinian territories. On Sunday, the Yemeni Popular Army targeted a ship heading toward the ports of the Zionist regime with a missile, reportedly sinking it.
Another critical point is that the Yemeni Army has been highly successful in air defense, effectively neutralizing the sinister plans of the Zionist regime to strike Yemeni cities. Additionally, Yemen’s Armed Forces, using domestically produced surface-to-air missiles, forced Zionist military units that had violated Yemen’s airspace to retreat.
Finally, over the past year and a half, Ansar Allah and Yemen’s Popular Army have made it clear to the Zionist enemy through their successful operations that these attacks will only stop once the Zionist regime’s aggression against Gaza ends and a permanent ceasefire agreement is signed between the two sides.
