Bulgarian envoy: Hamedan 2018, on right path to developing tourism

TEHRAN(Defapress)-Christo Polendakov, who was speaking in a gathering of foreign ambassadors in Hamedan, further noted that having church, mosque and synagogue beside each other creates a better tourist attraction in Bulgaria, adding that Hamedan also enjoys this tourist-attracting feature.

Safeguarding religious diversity can also create several tourist attractions and define new sources of income for the people in Hamedan, he added.

Meanwhile, Global Silk Road Cities Forum and Hamadan Chamber of Commerce signed the first international memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday for Hamadan 2018 transnational event so as to develop tourism in the province.

The MoU was signed following two-day meeting of around 50 foreign envoys in Hamadan for trans-national event of Hamadan 2018.

The document calls for implementing the strategic, scientific and research plan between the two organizations.

Establishment of Hamadan 2018 secretariat, compilation of tourism outlook for the province, formation of joint tourism network of member states of World Tourism Forum, promotion of capacity and management of travel destination, facilitation of easy travel in conformity with the world tourism programs were among contents of the MoU.

In the second meeting of the Asian Dialogue Forum (ACD), which was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, the city of Hamedan was proposed as the capital of Asian tourism and approved by the members. This proposal was submitted to the ACD Assembly at the request of provincial authorities in view of the high tourism capacity of the province.

Accordingly, Hamedan is the capital of Asian tourism in 2018 and the host of the tourism summit of Asian Cooperation Dialogue countries. Tourism ministers of 34 Asian countries and 500 participants from 146 countries affiliated to WTO will attend the event.

Hamedan has some unique historical and cultural heritage such as Hegmataneh, Gajnameh manuscripts, Avicenna Mausoleum, Baba Taher Mausoleum, Alisadr Cave and is the fifth tourism city of Iran.
