One killed, 28 injured in southern Iraq protests
The conflicts between police forces and protestors in Maysan Province, southeastern Iraq, claimed the life of at least 1 and injured 28 more, according to Arab media.
TEHRAN (Defapress)-The conflicts also injured 22 police officers and 6 civilians on Friday.
The protests were against dire economic conditions and unemployment of local people in petroleum companies.
Meanwhile, Iraqi media reported that Karbala, Nasiriyah, Najaf, Amarah and Basra observed protests, too.
According to Reuters hundreds of Iraqis stormed the airport and halted air traffic in Najaf on Friday.
“Residents took to the streets of the oil city Basra for a fifth straight day and blocked access to the nearby commodities port of Umm Qasr.
