TEHRAN (Defapress)- The Syrian Army troops continued operation against ISIL in the Eastern Desert of Sweida, capturing more points in Toloul al-Safa region on Friday.
The army men engaged in tough battle with ISIL in Tal Qanem in the depth of Toloul al-Safa in the Eastern Badiyeh of Sweida, imposing control over Khirbet al-Hawi.
Other units of the army fought with ISIL in Um Marzakh and Qabr Sheikh Hossein, inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists.
In the meantime, field sources said that the army soldiers continued advancing against terrorists, killing and wounding a number of them and capturing several more.
The sources further said that the army's artillery units and aircraft pounded ISIL's strongholds in Toloul al-Safar, inflicting major losses on them.
A military source said on Thursday that the army imposed control over 70 percent of ISIL's bastions in Eastern Badiyeh (desert) of Sweida, and it is close to completely purge terrorists from the region.
The Damascus Army purged terrorists from over 2,600 square kilometers of Eastern Badiyeh and it has laid siege on the terrorists in the strategic Taloul al-Safa region, the Arabic-language version of Sputnik news agency quoted Syrian military analyst Colonel Ali Maqsoud as saying.
Colonel Maqsoud confirmed that the Syrian army has taken control over 70 percent of Eastern Badiyeh and that the army is in the final stage of clean-up operation in the region.
The Syrian army, meantime, managed to link its units in control of the Northeastern borders of the Badiyeh of Sweida and the Southeastern borders of Damascus Badiyeh.
