Humam Hamoudi made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi on Sunday and slammed the recent terror attack on an Iranian military parade held in the southern Iranian city of Ahvaz on Saturday that left 25 killed and 69 wounded, with many civilians among the victims.
'US is in pursuit of policies to turn the region instable and to create security issues between Iran and other Islamic nations in the region by supporting such actions,' Hamoudi said.
Stressing the need for the help of global community to battle and eradicate terrorism, former deputy speaker of Iraqi parliament added, 'Tehran and Baghdad fight against terrorism and conspiracies in the same front.'
Masjedi for his part highlighted Iran’s support for Iraq’s solidarity and expressed hope that consensus among the Iraqi parties would result in election of the country's president and prime minister as soon as possible.
