The Iranian foreign minister and his accompanying delegation arrived in Dakar on Thursday morning and held meetings with a number of top Senegalese officials.
In a post on his Twitter account, Zarif said he held “important talks” with Senegal’s President Macky Sall, Foreign Minister Amadou Ba, and Parliament Speaker Moustapha Niasse on bilateral relations, “emphasizing highest value we put on relations with African nations.”
At the conclusion of the trip on Thursday night, the top Iranian diplomat said, “On my way back to Tehran after fruitful diplomatic trip -to the UN in NY, attending NAM conference in Caracas; visiting Venezuela, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and finally Senegal.”
