Iran Rejecting US Appeal for Unconditional Talks: OfficialSpeaking at a meeting of administrative officials in the province of Golestan on Thursday, Vaezi emphasized that the Iranian people and government will never give in to pressures.

He said Iran had once rejected the 12 preconditions that the US had set for direct talks with Iran, adding, “Today, they (Americans) are begging for negotiations without preconditions, but we reject.”

Highlighting the US’ failure to affect the Iranian nation psychologically, Vaezi said the people of Iran have trusted the establishment and the country’s market has achieved stability.

“We must all join hands so that the enemy would become confident that it has taken the wrong path,” the Iranian president's chief of staff added.

In comments in September 2019, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei slammed the US’ bid for talks with Iran as a trick, stressing that Iranian and US officials will not hold negotiations whatsoever.

“One time they (the US) propose negotiations without preconditions, and one time they say negotiations (should come) with 12 conditions. Such remarks either result from their disorganized policy, or work as a trick for confusing the other side. However, the Islamic Republic would not get confused, because our path is clear and we know what we are doing,” the Leader said.

The US objective behind negotiations is not finding a fair solution, but to impose its rude demands, Ayatollah Khamenei warned, saying the American authorities have become so rude that they openly admit to pursuing the purpose of “imposition” behind the push for talks.
