TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), it submitted 98 requests to the Israeli authorities seeking permission to cross the checkpoint along the Gaza Valley, of which only 15 were approved, as stated by UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

Dujarric expressed OCHA's concern regarding the situation of Palestinians remaining in northern Gaza amid the ongoing blockade, urgently urging Israel to allow humanitarian operations in the area to address the significant needs.

He noted that over the past three days, teams from OCHA, along with UN human rights agencies, demining groups, and other humanitarian organizations, have visited 9 locations in Gaza City to evaluate the needs of hundreds of displaced families, many of whom are returning to northern Gaza.

In a recent report released on Monday, OCHA indicated that humanitarian organizations submitted 50 requests to the Israeli authorities for access to northern Gaza in October, with 33 being rejected and eight accepted but encountering obstacles, including delays that hindered the completion of their missions, according to the spokesman.

This situation arises as the undeclared famine in northern Gaza worsens, with over 50 days of Israeli occupation forces blocking the entry of any aid or goods to the hundreds of thousands of residents trapped there, who, according to UN agencies, are facing an extremely violent campaign of genocide aimed at their elimination through killing and forced displacement.
