TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament said in response to the question of the Al-Jhumoriyeh newspaper about what Israel has to offer for "a solution based on its terms and for its interest", said: Our position is clear. Ceasefire and the implementation of Resolution 1701. Does any sane person think that we will agree to a solution that secures Israel's interests at the expense of Lebanon and its sovereignty?

Which victory is Israel talking about?

Nabih Berri explained that last September, the French put forward an initiative that also had the footprints of the Americans, and a large group of countries signed it in the form of a call to end the war and all responded positively to the request, except Israel, which shot down the efforts.

The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament emphasized: "Now we have passed this call and there is no going back to it because what is needed is a ceasefire and the implementation of Resolution 1701 without any additional or fewer words." This is what we agreed with the US envoy Amos Hochstein.

In response to Israel's War Minister Yisrael Katz's claim of victory over Hezbollah, he said: Which victory are they talking about? Have they won in Gaza? 13 months have passed since the war in the Gaza Strip and they have not been able to return their hostages or destroy Hamas. On the contrary, Hamas continues to fight and resist with strength and still holds Israeli prisoners.

Nabih Berri added: They assassinated Hezbollah leaders in Lebanon, destroyed the houses and buildings of citizens and civilians, and killed them. Is this a victory? Did they really win? Have these assassinations, destructions, and killings won them?

In response to a question about Israel's concern about issuing a resolution against it, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament said in the Security Council: When did Israel respect the resolutions of the Security Council and attach importance to it? If he respected the resolutions and was concerned about them, he would implement the issued resolutions, especially resolutions 242 and 338. I respected resolution 1701, not that he violated it more than 30,000 times.
