TEHRAN (Defapress)—Araghchi arrived in Iraq on Friday, marking the third stop on the foreign minister's regional tour, which began in Syria and subsequently took him to Turkiye.
Among the countries in the region, both the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq have voiced significant concerns regarding the situation in Syria.
The two neighboring nations have clearly stated that the actions undertaken by terrorist groups in Syria, aimed at destabilizing the Arab nation, align with the interests of the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel.
Tehran and Baghdad are united in their belief that the activities of these terrorists will not be confined to Syria but will likely extend to neighboring countries. Consequently, the two nations have engaged in extensive diplomatic discussions throughout the region to combat terrorism and restore peace in Syria.
Upon Araghchi's arrival in Baghdad on Friday, the Iraqi capital will host a trilateral meeting involving the foreign ministers of Iran, Iraq, and Syria to assess the latest developments in Syria and their implications for regional peace and security.
