TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Munich Security Conference is a conference that operates in the field of international security policy and is held every February in Munich, hosted by a private company.

Conspiracy Against Iran's Nuclear Program at the Anti-Security Munich Conference

No decisions are made at this conference; it is solely dedicated to statements, consultations, and political meetings. Each year, the conference specifically addresses an important issue in the realm of international security. This year, the main focus of the conference was the war in Ukraine, but alongside the main agenda, other topics were also discussed, including the peaceful nuclear program of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In this context, we witnessed that the foreign ministers of the G7, who met for the first time under Canada's leadership on the sidelines of this conference, reiterated their usual accusations against Iran's nuclear program in a statement.

While the G7 members repeated their accusations, the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently rejected these allegations and has repeatedly called on Western countries to refrain from misusing and instrumentalizing terms such as "threat" and "international peace and security" by correctly understanding these concepts.

In this regard, Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized on January 30, 2025: "The main and constant threat to global peace and security is the apartheid and occupying regime; a regime that possesses an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction and, in just the past 15 months, has committed the most heinous international crimes by brutally taking the lives of over 60,000 innocent people in a genocide and continues its aggression and occupation."

In addition to the G7 members, Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), also claimed at the conference: "The opportunity to reach an agreement with Iran is slipping away, and Iran could produce the materials needed to build a nuclear bomb within a short period."

It seems that the purpose of these accusations is to intensify international pressure against Iran; as these repetitive accusations not only fail to provide a realistic picture of Iran's nuclear situation but also serve as a political tool to legitimize the hostile policies of Donald Trump, the U.S. President, against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

These accusations are made while the Islamic Republic has repeatedly announced through official platforms that its defense doctrine does not include any role for nuclear weapons, and the fatwa (religious decree) by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, declaring the production and use of nuclear weapons as forbidden, remains the cornerstone of Iran's defense policy.

In practice, the Islamic Republic of Iran has never moved toward producing nuclear weapons and remains under strict supervision by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), with no evidence of any deviation in Iran's nuclear program in the agency's reports. Therefore, the media narrative surrounding Iran's nuclear program, frequently raised by Western countries, aims to justify illegitimate international pressure against our nation. It is evident that the Islamic Republic of Iran while standing firm against external pressures, will seriously continue its peaceful nuclear program within the framework of international agreements.
